Survey shows coastline, hydrography, buoys, lighthouses (high light and low light at Orfordness), settlements, buildings, fortification, military installations (martello towers), land marks and remarks. Manuscript. North point (orientation to northwest bearing north) and magnetic north variation. Scale: 20.25 inches to 5 miles. 'Surveyed by F W [Francis William] Austen Captain of His Majesty's Ship Elephant 1812’; drawn by F W [Francis William] Austen. Endorsed (in black ink): 'Dunwich to Harwich' [obscured by linen backing]
