Application (and complaint) by George Crocker Fox of Falmouth, merchant, William Phillipps of Redruth, merchant, and George Fox of Falmouth, merchant, against John Carlyon, clerk, Joseph Peters, Bachelor in Physick, Thomas Polwhele, esq., Christopher Warrick, surgeon, Henry Rosewarne and Richard Jewell, merchants, and John Thomas, gent. (seven of the commissioners appointed to amend and widen roads from Truro), for abusing their powers by erecting a turnpike-gate across the highway at Cosawes Water near Perranarworthal Alms House, being part of the public road belonging to Truro Turnpike: complaint upheld; gate to be removed; costs to complainants.

Under Act of Parliament requiring weekly returns of market prices and movement of corn between counties and the provision of a standard Winchester bushel of eight gallons to be kept at each market town appointed to make returns: Launceston, Bodmin and Redruth to be the appointed market towns, and Thomas Vigurs, John Eyre and John Williams, respectively, inhabitants, appointed to make the return by noting average prices 'by the customary measure of such respective market and also the average prices by the said standard or Winchester bushel'.

Application by Thomas Morcom and Paul Peryam, both of Gwennap, carriers [same complaint as QS/1/3/366 above]: complaint upheld; gate to be removed; costs to complainants.

Application by St Mabyn concerning female bastard born at St Mabyn on 28 Aug. last, dau. of Ann Vivian, single woman: William Bryant of Luxulyan, yeo., alleged father, to pay 1s. 4d. weekly maintenance and £4 17s. 4d. lying-in expenses, etc. Ann Vivian to pay 8d. weekly.
