Title (The name of the record)
- Copy of Indemnity (4th. Feb., 1628 (N.S.)) whereby, having recited: firstly, the conveyance (1st. Feb., 1628 (N.S.)) by John Alford (of London, gent.) to Henry Haswell (of Coventry, alderman and mercer) of a Well Street messuage (formerly occupied by Edmund Wheate, now by John Burgoyne (gent.)) between a corporation messuage (tenanted by Alexander Poule) on the east, a house which John Judd inhabits on the west, the street on the south, and Hill Mill bank on the north; and secondly, that it is "pretended and given out in speeches" that the messuage's eastern part has been at some time held by Anne Brewer at a 2/- p.a. rent from the Freeschool: therefore John Alford will compensate Henry Harwell if the corporation recover the messuage's eastern part through John Hales grant.
