Description (What the record is about)
-
J. Newton to his father.
Sir John Brownlow who has bought Manthorpe from Sir J. Newton wants the son's signature too, thought it can hardly strengthen his title. Gervase and his colonel are both well after the fatigues of a summer campaign. Talk of Lincolnshire elections suggests William Monson instead of Sir E. Hussey at Lincoln and one Moore a citizen at Grimsby. Sent down wine to Barrs Court and asks for sherry in return.
