Bound Registers of printed proformae, recording dates of the banns, names of bride and groom, residence or township, occupation of groom, date of marriage, officiant, signatures of bride and groom and witnesses. Printed By Thomas & W. Lownds, Bookseller, near Exeter-Exchange, later Fleet Street, in accordance with an act of Parliament 26 Geo II 'An Act for the better Preventing of Clandestine Marriages.' Most volumes from MS 13/5 onwards contain instructions at the front of the volume for filling in the forms according to the law. From 1813, printed by George Eyre and Andrew Strahan, Printers to the King's most Excellent Majesty, in pursuance of the Act of Parliament, 52 Geo III, Cap 146 (passed 28 Jul 1812) a copy of which is prefixed to the Register of Baptisms. [George Rose's Act].
