Description

The church of St Mark was originally built as a chapel of ease to Bexhill St Peter in 1842. It was enlarged in 1885 and again in 1931. The district chapelry of Bexhill St Mark was formed out of the parish of St Peter in September 1857. St James' Chapel, Normans Bay, was built in 1866 as a dual-purpose building to be used as a school and for divine worship. It remained as part of the parish until 1970 when the area was transferred to the parish of Pevensey.
