PARISH OF EASTBOURNE CHRIST CHURCH

Christ Church was built in 1858 as a chapel of ease to Eastbourne Holy Trinity and was consecrated on 29 July 1859. For three years prior to this services had been held in Miss Julia Brodie's school by the Revd Richard William Pierpoint, vicar of Eastbourne Holy Trinity. The south aisle was added in 1870 and the north aisle in 1879. An order in council constituting the district chapelry of Christ Church was made on 3 February 1864.
