Description

Josiah Wedgwood (receipted by Thomas Byerley) for £33. Etruria in Staffordshire. Thos. Webb Edge bought of Josiah Wedgwood, potter to her Majesty. N.B. His manufacture is sold at his warehouse at Portland House in Greek Street, Soho, London and at Mr. Neunburgs, No. 75, Cornhill, and at no other place in Town; as he now sells for ready money only he delivers the goods safe and carriage free to London. Detail includes painting 247 crests at 6d. each on the set, £6. 3s. 6d. The goods sent to Strelley cost £8. 3s. 6d. Letter from Thos. Byerley at Portland House informing Edge that he has delivered to the carrier 17 desert plates, 5 of which are in lieu of those broke in the carriage and not charged in the bill any more than a fruit basket which is likewise in this box, etc. Addressed to Thos. Webb Edge at Sherborne near Warwick.

[Thos. Byerley was a nephew and partner of Josiah Wedgwood.]
