He was born at Hendon on 23/12/92 at Victoria Laundry, The Mead (also listed as 146, Granville Rd, Childs Hill, London) the son of Thomas Edingborough (a laundryman) and Frances Margaret Edingborough (formerly Parrinder). At the time of the Great War his father was living at Fyfield, Temple Fortune, Hendon, NW. In November 1916 his father was 67. At the time of his death he was attd to 109 Brigade MGC. Joined the MGC training centre at Grantham on 28/2/16 and remained at that centre until he proceeded overseas to join 109 Brigade MGC. In 1923 his father was living at 146, Granville Rd, Childs Hill NW2. A casualty form for him with 12 Middlesex Regt attd 109 Brigade MGC 2nd Lieutenant. Posted to 109 Brigade in field 24/6/16. Embarked Southampton for Le Havre 22/6/16. To front 27/6/16 and joined his Company on that date. His commission application for the Regular Army states that he was unmarried, address as Fyfield above. Height 5' 6", weight 158lbs. (Officers Papers PRO)

Aged 22. Youngest son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Edinborough of Temple Fortune, Hendon. Commissioned Aug 1914. An Associate of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the City and Guilds of London Institute and was partly educated in France. (The Times 19/7/16)

War Diary 109 Coy: "Teams 1,2,3 & 16 with their officers Lt H Hewitt & N Edinborough, were completely wiped out in NoMansLand. A heavy shell burst over No 10 team killing all except Cpl Porter, who was wounded, and destroying the gun";
