Custodial history

The President's bible, received as part of the accession, was returned to the depositor.

Administrative / biographical background

The Council was established to unify free churches in the region, probably in 1902, although minutes do not survive before June 1903. On 4 June 1993 the Council was disbanded and became a department of Wearside Churches Together.

The Executive Committee and Council minutes occassionally contain the minutes of sub-committees
