Description

Also includes appointments of new trustees and typescript history of how it came into the possession of the borough and account of the beating of its bounds, and a copy map of 1834 (for original see LEW/C 2/3/2). In 1701 Henry White of Fletching mortgaged the property to Richard Barnard, gent The mortgage was assigned in 1703 to the Constables of Lewes who also purchased the freehold of the moiety.
