Between ANDREW WHARTON (1), EDMUND BOLSWORTH (2), NATHANIEL PIGOT of the Inner Temple, esq., on behalf of BARABARA VINCENT, widow, (3), and JOHN JENKINSON of St. Dunstans in the West, gent., on behalf of MARY FERMOR, widow, and BARTHOLOMEW WALMSLEY of Dunkenhall, Lancs., esq., and WILLIAM EYSTON of Battell, co. Sussex, gent. (4), for the partition of the manors of Pett and Marsham and of other lands, tenements &c. called Mersham, Fother, Fother Mersham, Fother Marsh and Pett in Pett, Fairleigh, Iclesham and Gestling and the capital messuage and house called Preisthawes and lands belonging in Westham, Hailsham, Hellingly and Horse-mounceaux formerly the possession of James Thetcher, esq. decd. which were held by the parties in common as follows:-
Andrew Wharton, 2/7ths; Edmund Bolsworth, 1/2 of 1/7th and 1/8th of 1/7ths; Barbara Vincent, 1/4 of 1/7th; Mary Fermor, 3/7ths and 1/4th of 1/7th; Bart. Walmsly, 1/2 of 1/7th and 1/8th of 1/7th; Wm. Eyston, 1/4th of 1/7th
It was agreed that the share of Wm. Eyston should be set out with the share of Mary Fermor, the combined share to be:-
The capital messuage or mansion house called Priesthawes and lands belonging and more particularly: the Barne close, 52ac. a close on the S. side of Priesthawes, 52 ac.; the Tanners, 22 ac.; the Seven Berryes, 31 ac.; the Rushy Marsh, 5 ac.; the Reed Pond, 5 ac.; the Sleeches, 4 pieces, marsh, 36 ac.; the Birtswishes, 30 ac., 4 pieces marsh and upland; 3 pieces of land called Walters Wood, 30 ac.; all in the possession of William Weller, yearly rent, £150
Also the farm or lands called Thorne, viz: closes containing, 8 ac., 10 ac., 12 ac. 7 ac. 5 ac. 4 ac. and 6 closes, 50 ac. In the possession of Wm. Weller at the yearly rent of £34
The messuages and lands and marshes called Stace's farm co consisting of 10 closes of uplands and marsh, 40 ac., late in the possession of Moses Wington and then of James Dunn, at the yearly rent of £22; and uplands and marshlands called Rackmer hill being 9 closes containing 36 ac. in the possession of John Serjeant at the yearly rent of £14
Also uplands and marshlands called Gospitts being 7 closes containing 16 ac. in possession of the said John Serjeant, rent £12
Marshlands called Allards Marsh, 13 ac. in possession of Thos. Fagg, gent., rent £6
The messuage, lands &c. then held by the parties in common in Hailsham, Westham, Hellingly and Horsemounceaux
