Letter of P[eter] Parker, Portsmouth thanking William White, Grand Secretary, Moderns' Grand Lodge, London for his letter which arrived with a Patent appointing Lord Eardley as Provincial Grand Master for Cambridgshire and the printed proceedings of the last Grand Lodge meeting. Agrees that the Country Feast should continue as before which Grand Officers should attend. Refers to dispute over green apron, use of which Grand Lodge does not favour, and suggests that Country Stewards' Lodge drop this proposal but revise it in the future. Apologises for not not being able to attend the Country Feast.

Country Steward's Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 25 July 1789 and met as No. 540 at the Guildhall Coffee House, Gresham Street, London. In 1790 the Lodge moved to the Freemasons' Tavern, Great Queen Street, London. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 449 in 1792. The Lodge made its last payment in 1799 and lapsed about 1802.
