The Brough Elloughton and Welton GLCC Ltd was established by Memorandum of Assoc. in July 1871. The works were in Brough alongside the railway line. The company's name was changed to the Brough, Elloughton & District Gas Company in 1874. The company went into receivership in 1947 - 1948 and was purchased from the Receiver by the British Gas Light Company on 1 Jan 1949.
