Title
Report Armstrong Siddeley Motors Experimental Department (accessories): Water in fuel Wyvern aircraft, ability of low pressure filter to remove water from fuel
Date
3 December 1954
Description

Cases have occurred recently of water being found in the fuel system of carrier-borne aircraft. Following incidents where aircraft have fallen into the sea immediately after take-off, it was decided to instigate an investigation into the likelihood of water in the fuel tanks being carried over with the fuel to the control system and eventually to the burners with consequent erratic combustion conditions and possible flame extinction
