Mr Chapman has received the approval of both Mr Sopwith and Sir Frank, to the scheme for marketing the new 3.4-litre motor car, as outlined by the directors of Messers Henleys. Current car production (a) By price reduction - of the alternatives given in his statement of the 13th August, Mr Henley favours the second, which gives a total estimated loss of some £32,000. (b) By cancelling current production. There are some 280 cars yet to build and on today's evidence, Mr Chapman is inclined to favour this solution. 3 New car costs. Mr Chapman is not satisfied that the estimated costs for the new car on the basis of 2,000 and 5,000 per annum have been dealt with on a sufficiently realistic basis, and it is most essential, before we proceed further, that a special investigation be made into BO items, manufacturing costs and adjustment to overheads
