Q/SCs Quarter Sessions

Q/SCz Non-Somerset calendars and misc. papers
The calendars give name, age, occupation, committing magistrate, date of warrant and offence. Some of the pre-1852 Quarter Sessions calendars have been annotated with notes of sentence or of expenses, but this is only occasionally so in the case of the Assize calendars. After 1853 revised forms were introduced which incorporated columns for verdict and sentence, and these details have been printed onto the present series.
Both series are stored in chronological order and for ease of reference the separate entries/lines indicate present separate bundles. The Quarter Sessions calendars are virtually complete after 1822
Tthe Assize calendars are probably complete from 1854. An advertisement for Whitmash's coaches and expenses for collecting a prisoner from London are with the Michaelmas 1822 calendar [Q/SCs 27.].
