Indenture of agreement (a) John Hardam, Mayor, and the citizens and burgesses of Chichester (b) William Fleshmonger, Dean of Chichester In return for 600 marks paid by (b) to (a) towards the redemption of the fee farm, (a) promises to make a grant to (b) of an annuity of £13. 6 s. 8 d. payable quarterly. Also to make an agreement that butchers, brewers, bakers, millers, fishmongers, taverners and innholders shall not be taxed on lawdays more than 12 d. p.a., tipplers not more than 3 d., provided they do not act in contempt of the Liberty Ordinance to be declared to the commons when next gathered in the Common Hall to elect a mayor.
