Autograph collection, comprising: ff. 1-6. Commentary or lecture on Revelation 20: 5, 'This is the first resurrection'. 4 leaves, in a wrapper inscribed, in another hand, 'Sermon by Dr Boothroyd learned biblical scholar'. n.d. This is probably Benjamin Boothroyd (1786-1836), Independent minister at Pontefract and Huddersfield, Yorks., and Hebrew scholar. Written on paper watermarked 'H. Salmon' [Henry Salmon, paper maker at Settle, Yorks., early 19th cent.]. ff. 7-8. Letter from (John) Frederick Denison Maurice (1805-1872), theologian, to 'Parker', concerning the state of their account. Ely Cottage, Lee Road, Blackheath, 19 July [no year]. f. 9. Letter from (John) Frederick Denison Maurice to 'Allen'. 14 Sept. [no year]. ff. 10-11. Printer's proof of four pages of a sermon on 'The kingdom which cannot be moved' by (John) Frederick Denison Maurice, with numerous corrections in Maurice's hand. The proof comprises pp. 81-84 of his 'Chrismas Day and other sermons' (London: John W. Parker, 1843). ff. 12-13. Wrapper formerly containing ff. 7-11. Pasted to f. 12v is the signature of (John) Frederick Denison Maurice, cut from a letter.
