Folios 125-126. Draft letter from The Local Government Board to James Saunders, Clerk to the East Dereham Local Board in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to inform him that they have under their consideration the report made by their inspector Mr Harrison, after the inquiry held by him as regards to their application for a provisional order under the Gas and Water Works Facilities Acts, 33 & 34 Vic c 70 authorising them to carry on a gas undertaking to construct other gas works, to acquire lands, and to borrow money for such purposes.
The Board has also received from Harrison, the draft agreement forwarded to him by the Local Board on 12 March 1885, for their acquisition of the hereditaments, premises and undertaking belonging to the East Dereham Gas Light and Coke Company Limited.
They also state that with regards to the land which the Local Board proposes to acquire as specified in Part iii of the schedule to the agreement, it is not clear on what tenure the land in question is held by the Company and they request an explanation as soon as possible.
