On succession of John Anwick Smith (born 24 April 1843) of Langley Grove, co. Durham, gentleman upon death of Mary Fleming Garnett on 2 October 1862 derived from Georgeana Kendal Smith by descent, delivered by John Anwick Smith, successor of Georgeana Kendal Smith, 20 March 1865; duty paid on 16 June 1865.
Premises include: a freehold dwellinghouse and farm called Bank House in Barbon; a portion of the dwellinghouse and garden was late in occupation of Mary Fleming Garnett as tenant for life and residue of dwellinghouse and farm was in occupation of James Reed as tenant from year to year, paying yearly rent of £65.
