Extract from will (7th. July, 1595) of Richard Saunders giving his dwelling (with appurtenances occupied by William Hurt, William Randle and himself) for maintenance of Bablake Boys, allowing 26/8 p.a. from the rents for Bond's Hospital provided the mayor lease Barkers Leys for 21 years to the testator's brother Thomas within one year of his decease (he paying £13/6/8 entryfine and 30/- p.a. rent), otherwise the property would go successively to the brother and three [unnamed] sisters; £7 and stone is bequeathed towards repair of the tenements provided wainscotting stays in place; William Hurt may occupy his shop for 26/8 p.a. rent; to the testator's apprentice John Killingley go £5 and W. Randle's shop at 20/- p.a. rent for a 21-year term.
