Letter of Jacob Bassan, Provincial Grand Treasurer, Kingston, Jamaica to Robert Leslie, Grand Secretary, asking the recipient to acknowledge receipt of the bill of exchange for twenty pounds drawn on Francis Owen, Provincial Grand Master by James Sykes for the renewal of the warrant for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Jamaica. Mentions circular regarding changes to regulations concerning the length of time to be served by Masters and Wardens before gaining the right to sit and vote at Grand Lodge meetings in London. Asks specifically about the privileges of past officers of provincial lodges who may not have served a whole year due to difference in election dates between Grand Lodge and the Provincial Grand Lodge. With draft reply endorsement by Robert Leslie, noting receipt of the bill of exchange for twenty pounds and noting the difficulties among members on the Island leading to a delay in providing the renewal of the warrant.

Provincial Grand Lodge, No. 1 was granted a warrant by the Antients' Grand Lodge on 1 June 1796 to meet as No. 301 at the Masons' Hall, Port Royal Street, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. The Lodge was erased at the time of the union between the Antients' and Moderns' Grand Lodges to form the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813.
