This collection relates to the Totland Bay Estate, the managing director of which during the early years of the twentieth century was Frank Gerard Aman. There are title deeds relating to properties in Freshwater, as well as in Milford and Pennington on the mainland (1897 - 1949). Mr Aman was one of the directors of the South Western & Isle of Wight Junction Railway Company, and the collection includes various agreements concerning the purchase of land in Lymington and Milford by the Company (1901 - 1917). There is also a sizeable quantity of correspondence dealing with the running of the estate (1914 - 1937).
