Description (What the record is about)
-
The contents of this file were formerly in a portfolio entitled:
D Needwood EnclosureThe title and reference are recorded in the contemporary "Index to Correspondence and Documents." Under M.R.Boulton’s arrangement the file was placed in iron box A V along with the various other files of papers relating to Yoxall, which is recorded in the Rough Catalogue of circa 1820. What then happened to these papers is not known, as box A V is not listed in the contents of the study safe of circa 1841, nor are they clearly distinguishable in the Assay Office inventories of 1921.
Only a few documents which relate to the enclosure have been identified and replaced here.
Some letters from John D. Fowler may be relevant and can be found in MS 3782/12/45 MB General Correspondence, 1800.
