Manor of Rongeton alias Rounton and commonly called Romton [i.e. Runcton in North Mundham], parcel of the lands and possessions of the late monastery of 'Brewton' [i.e. Bruton] (co. Somerset), now dissolved; the rectory appropriate and church of Rongeton, and the advowson of the vicarage of the parish church thereof; in 'Rongeton', North Mundham, Pagham and 'Culham', with discharge of all payments from these properties, including an annual pension of 40s. Od. from part of the properties to the rector of Pagham
To hold by service of one-twentieth part of a knight's fee. Portrait of the king in colour in initial letter which is heavily gilded as are all the capital letters in the top line of the document. The Royal Arms, the badges of the Order of the Garter and of the Prince of Wales, and the arms of the Grovers' Company are among the heraldic insignia in the decoration at the head; this decoration includes flowers and fruit all in colour. (Sir William Burrell, in the late 18th century, referred to this document as 'the beautifull illuminated original in the possession of Harry Peckham, esq., of Mitre Court Buildings, Temple (B.M., Add Mss 5690, f. 79).)
