Description (What the record is about)
-
While the Stevenage New Town Master Plan was still being finalised, plans for new residential housing in the newly proposed neighbourhoods could not begin. However, some house building work did go ahead during this time, predominantly in Neighbourhood 1 - Old Town, including the building of 110 flats on Sish Lane, called Chauncy House or Stony Halls. Stevenage Development Corporation also bought some other properties in and around the Old Town and converted or redeveloped them.
