PARTIES:
1a. James Burr of Ditchley, Oxford, gent.
b. Robert Bourne of City of Oxford, M.D.
2. Robert Wilsdon of Ensham, Oxford, yeoman.
SUBJECT OF TRANSACTION:
messuage or tenement with outhouses buildings barns stables gardens and appurts. also several closes containing 280 acres excepting such part of Worsey Meadow as has been lately allotted from it by the Ensham Enclosure Commissioners and are now occup. 2. (except trees, mines and minerals and right to course shoot and fish).
1. lease the premises to 2. from 5th April last for term of 8 yrs. @ £400 p.a. plus £5 p.a. for every acre of meadow or pasture (except the Furze Ground) which 2. shall plough and for every acre of tillage which 2. shall sow with hemp flax woad any other seed deemed injurous to the land and not usually sown in the neighbourhood. 2. covenants to repair, to ditches, cattle to eat all hay, clover, turnips etc. grown on the premises and the dung spread on the premises except the dung from last yrs. crop which shall be left in the yards meadow not to be mown more than once a year under penalty of 40/- per acre and not take more than 3 crops of grain successively without a summer fallow or turnips or grass intervening, not to do any improper ploughings or cross cropping, 1. may enter on the lands (except the grounds of wheat and oats) in Nov. before the expiration of the term to prepare it for spring crops and 2. shall have the right to sow one of the grounds (not exceeding 24a.) with wheat in the autumn before the expiration of the term and similarly saw oats in one of the grounds (not exceeding 24a.) in the Spring of the expiration of the term upon his sowing grass seed among the oats or wheat and have use of part of buildings for thrashing same.
