Concerns: news of differences of opinion between Sir Thomas and Lord Hartington; advice to ensure he has signed powers from the Secretary of State showing he can command a paquet boat to sail suddenly, in case the Post Master General does not appreciate that he holds these powers and tries to refuse; his feeling that no time is to be lost in finishing the agreement given the nature of the sp[eaker]; a matter concerning restoring him [the Speaker?] to a share in the government. Written from Chatsworth. Signed 'Devonshire'.
