Bequests include:- to wife Betty and friends John Rigg of Newton, Lancashire, gent., Edmund Tatham of Kendal, also gent. Thomas Shaw of Kendal, timber merchant, on trust to dispose of same, and to use proceeds to pay debts etc. and to give residue to wife and daughter Jane
- To daughter Jane, his watch
- To children Jane and John, as tenants in Common, estate under will of late Mother-in-law, purchased by testator from son William
- To wife residue of real estate for life
- To daughter Jane on death of wife, houses and gardens on House of Correction Hill, 5 dwelling houses on north side of Woolpack Yard, house and shop in entry lane occupied by widow Bellwood, house now divided into 3 tenements, opposite pump in Entry Lane, all in Kendal, should Jane die without issue, to go to trustees Edmund Tatham, John Rigg and Thomas Shaw, to use rents for maintenance and education of children of sons William and John until majority, then to sell and share proceeds amongst them
- To son William, after death of wife, for life, 6 dwelling houses adjoining each other on north side of Entry Lane, then to trustees to use profits and rents for maintenance and education of children of William, until majority, then to sell and share proceeds amongst said children
- To son John, after death of wife and for his life, 2 dwelling houses on north side of Finkle Street, dwelling house in White Lion Yard, 7 dwelling houses in Woolpack Yard, adjoining Chapel, then to trustees to use rents for maintenance and education of children of John until majority, then to sell and share proceeds amongst said children
