In 1914 Mr and Mrs Frederick J. Kirchner gave their home, Sea Copse Hill, to the Royal Waterloo Hospital for use as a convalescent home. It was situated at Wootton in the Isle of Wight. By 1924 the Board of Governors decided that the house was not really suitable for this purpose. They sold the house and used the proceeds of the sale for general hospital purposes.
