The church of St Margaret of Antioch, at the corner of Ledsam Street and Alston Street was designed by Osborn and Reading. It was consecrated in 1875 and a parish was assigned out of St John's Ladywood in 1876. The living had the status of perpetual curacy until 1890 when it became a vicarage. The patronage was in the gift of the bishop. The church closed in 1956 and the parish and benefice united with St John, Ladywood and St Barnabas, Birmingham.
