Collection of photographs, legal documents, plans, technical records, trade information and other company details relating to the operation of Bath Gas Light & Coke Works from its beginnings in 1818 to nationalisation of the industry and the subsequent closure as a manufactory of gas in 1971. Its subsequent history as a storage facility under South West Gas Board is covered. A large collection of 35 mm projector slides from South West Gas have been deposited.
In addition extensive research notes by the South West Gas Historical Society and Dr Harry Nabb have also been deposited relating to the Bath area.
