Description

1. Robert Skyring Garnett of Bankhouse, Barbon, Kirkby Lonsdale, esquire.

2. The Reverend Thomas Garnett, If M A and Fellow of University College Durham, co. Durham, only son and heir apparent of Robert Skyring Garnett.

3. Anwick Smith of Langley Grove near City of Durham, co. Durham, esquire.

Premises: all that messuage or tenement called Bankhouse with outbuildings, garden, orchard, closes, inclosures and parcels of ground belonging called the Croft, Good Meadow, Backdoor Field, Great Pasture, Fell Yeat Close, Large Busky Field, Little Busky Field, Strawberry Dale, Intake, Fell Parrock, Rough Mire Field beyond the Well, Good Low Meadow and Horse Low Meadow with appurts. at Bankhouse in Barbon, Kirkby Lonsdale, late in possession of John Garnett with pew(s) in chapel of Barbon.

Terms:- to (3) to use of (1) for life and should estate be forfeit during life of (1) to (3) in trust to preserve contingent uses, giving yearly profits to (1) and upon death of (1) to use of (2); - should wife of (2) survive him, will not claim for dower;

- (1) May lease premises or part for a term of years not exceeding 9, with 1 or more witnesses.

Consideration: £200 from (2) to (1), natural love and affection felt by (1) for (2) and 10s from (3) to (1).
