Thomas Richards master, and Thomas Morrish, mariner, both of the ship Rosewyn, testified that they shipped, at Bristol on 3 May, 480 bushels of white salt, duty paid, for William and James Bower and John Westlake of Lostwithiel, Jacob Borlase and Samuel Hopwood of St Austell, and Martha Grant of Luxulyan, merchants, to be carried to Fowey; the ship was stranded due to stormy weather and the salt lost.

Following consideration of the high cost incurred by the constables of several parishes in the transportation of soldiers' baggage over and beyond the payments made by the soldiers themselves: a charge of 6d. a mile for every three ['hundred' deleted and 'thousand' inserted] weight to be paid towards such carriage by the Vice-treasurer out of County funds.
