(1) pp. 1-170, ''Journal of James Anderson when Resident at the Court of Mahajee Scindia 1783 &c'' 2nd Nov. 1783 to 1785. (2) pp. 177-364, ''History of the Province of Guzerat'' by James Anderson. (3) pp. 369-422, ''Japan Voyage'' Journal of the ship Return during its stay in Japan 29th June to 28th Aug. 1673 (from Mr. Thomas Wilks' Papers). At this date Japan was closed to all foreigners except the Dutch. This journal has been printed as an appendix in vol. ii of J. G. Scheuchzer's translation (1728) of Kaempfer's Japan. Also in the edition of Kaempfer published by Messrs. Maclehose in 1906. (4) pp. 429-59, John Agnew, Resident at Calicut, to Directors 7th April 1794 relative to Pepper obtainable in Malabar. (5) pp. 461-91, Robert Taylor (Chief at Tellicherry) and George Parry (Factor) to Directors 3rd April 1794 relative to Pepper obtainable in Malabar.
