Description (What the record is about)
-
The rates are made out in slim folio gatherings, usually with the signatures of the mayor and some of the jurats added in confirmation. Rates 'by ability' and by lands are set out separately. From April 1699 Watchbell and Wish wards do not appear, but are probably entered under Baddings ward as few people were assessed in them.
