Anne Louisa Frewen (1855-1931), the daughter of Thomas [IV] Frewen (1811-1870) and his second wife Helen Louisa Homan of County Kildare (1821-1901), was born at Northiam on 29 July 1855 and she died unmarried on 29 April 1931. In September 1885 it was reported by her mother that she was 'engaged to be married to Colonel Thomas of Llanthomas. He is a most excellant man so I ought to be thankful but I am not feeling so at present as he is a stranger still to me...He is 45 and nothing to recommend him as to exterior, being stout & bald & like in a smaller degree C[harles] H[ay] F[rewen]ll...He must inherit from an aunt now nearly 80 a very nice property & place Allensmore Court in Herefordshire, but at present has but very little' (FRE/4172/(44)). She was the author of History of Brickwall (1909). Since she was generally known within the family as Louisa rather than Ann, it has been decided to refer to her as such throughout this section..
Eleanor Carter (née Frewen) (1842- ), the daughter of Thomas [IV] Frewen (1811-1870) and his first wife Anne Carus Wilson (1803-1844), was born at Northiam on 10 October 1842. She married Captain Edward Carter formerly of the 90th Regiment sometime after January 1871 (FRE/4181/(60)). In 1881 they were living at 2 Chesham Place. Brighton when the family consisted on Edward (48, born at Addington, Surrey), Eleanor (38) and their children Alice E (8, born at Cowfold), Gerard E (7, born at Cowfold), Dorothy S (6, born at Cowfold) and Mary (4, born at Cowfold).
Selina Powel (née Frewen) (1835-1908), the daughter of Thomas [IV] Frewen (1811-1870) and his first wife Anne Carus Wilson (1803-1844), was born at Northiam on 10 September 1835. She married twice, firstly Charles Vickers of Wormstall, Berkshire at St Georges Hanover Square, London on 28 November 1874 (FRE/4181/(39)) and secondly on 9 June 1881 to Hugh Powell Powel (1822-1907) of Castell Madoc, Brecknockshire. He died on 26 May 1907 and she on 24 July 1908.
