Administrative / biographical background

St Lawrence's Church, Birmingham on Dartmouth Street was designed by J A Chatwin and erected with the help of a grant of £10,000 from Miss Louisa Ann Ryland in 1867. It was consecrated in 1868, when a parish was assigned out of St Matthew, Duddeston, the living being a vicarage in the gift of the Bishop. The Church was closed in 1951, and the benefice united with that of St Matthew Duddeston
