Microfilm copy of his war memoirs (246pp ts), written between 1948 and 1965, covering his service in the 1/6th Battalion The Lancashire Fusiliers in northern France during April - May 1940, with a particularly interesting account of the evacuation from the beaches at Dunkirk under German bombardment, transfer to the 4th Reconnaissance Regiment and overseas service in North Africa and Italy from March 1943 onwards, with particular reference to the advance to Tunis and the assault on the Gothic Line (the memoirs end in December 1944 as the Regiment prepares to move to Greece).
