Indenture between John Hotchiss the elder of Gore Bradeley parish of Much Wenlock, gent. and Anne his wife, and John Hotchis the younger of Gore Bradeley, gent., and Dorothy, his wife of the one part, and Edward Hancock of Much Wenlock tanner, of the other part. That in consideration of £600 paid by Edward Hancock release by John Hotchkis the elder and younger and Dorothy and Anne their wives of all the chapel of Burton in the parish of Much Wenlock with the appurtenances and the tithes of corn and grain becoming payable from the lands and hereditaments in Burton and Gore Bradeley, parish of Much Wenlock, and also all the tithes of wool and lambs payable from the capital messuage in Burton, now divided into two tenements in the possession of George Tipton and William Nickles excepting and reserving out of this present grant all the tithes of corn and grain yearly arising from Spoonehill wood during such term as they shall be excepted by a lease made by Sir Francis Lawley to John Hotchkiss the elder of his farm and tenement in Gore Bradeley for a certain number of years determinable on the death of John Hotchkiss the elder and John Hotchkis the younger; and the reversion, and profits of the tithes and premises and all deeds and writings concerning the same.
To have and hold the tithes and premises with their appurtenances by Edward Hancock and his heirs for ever; provided that if John Hotchkis the elder or younger shall pay to Edward Hancock £600 on 25th January 1704 in the church of Much Wenlock between 10 a.m. and 12 and also shall pay to Edward Hancock £15 upon every 24th July and £15 on every 25th January before 25th January 1704 at the place and in the same hours, present indenture of mortgage shallbe void, but for any default of the £600 present to be in full force. Covenant by John Hotchkis the elder and younger to warrant the lands to Edward Hancock against themselves and their heirs. Covenant by John Hotchkis the elder and younger on behalf of themselves and their heirs that he and they will pay and satisfy Edward Hancock the £600 and the several £15 payable without any deduction for any taxation chargeable on the premises. That John Hotchkis the elder and younger at the present time are lawfully seised in the premises, and have full power to convey and alienate same. That the tithes shall be conveyed to Edward Hancock free from all former grants, bargains and sales, leases etc. That John Hotchkis the elder and younger and all other persons having claim to the tithes shall during the space of 10 yrs. make such reasonable acts for the better conveying the premises to Edward Hancock, by fine recovery or other lawful ways, and that Edward Hancock and the other parties should not be required to travell further than Salop county for doing such act.
Covenanted by both parties that John Hotchkis shall before the end of Michaelmas term next levy to Edward Hotchkis one fine upon the fine and premises upon such name as Edward Hancock shall require, which fine and assurances shall be deemed to be to the use of Edward Hancock. If it shall happen that John Hotchkis the elder and younger shall for the space of 1 month make default in payment of the £15 or £600, that in such case John Hotckis the elder and younger shall with such other persons as by the council of Edward be thought fit to become parties with them in any conveyance to be made of the premises for the better securing of the payment; that it shall be lawful for Edward Hancock to demise in the name of Humphrey Hinton plt. against John Hochkis the younger def. to enter judgment for the tithes and premises of Hillary term next or any other subsequent term and upon the chapel of Burton and all the tithes of corn and grain and wool and lambs, and that John Hotchkis the elder and younger shall sign as their act and deed if required by Edward Hancock any warranty to Mr. Launcelott Taylor or other attornies to impower him to enter into possession of the tithes, upon any default of payment by John Hotchkis.

Mem. Agreed before the ensealing of present deed that Edward Hancock and his executers and assigns may deduct out of the £50 surplus money mentioned all interest that may become due for the £600 principal before the payment, and all charges, disbursements they shall be put to in gaining possession of the tithes and premises, upon the default of payment.
