24 Alexander Weldishe of Hunton, husbandman, Robert Burchett of Staplehurst, clothier, Thomas Furner, the younger, of Yalding, husbandman, and John Baker of Yalding, husbandman, with others, unknown, to the number of six, arrayed in warlike manner, on 29th September, 1599, at Yalding, between 10 and 11 at night riotously broke and entered the close of John Brickenden of Yalding, clothier, in a place called the Orchard, and assaulted the said John Brickenden, contrary to the statute concerning riots of 13 Henry IV.
[In margin] On 1st April, 1600, Burchett and Furner appeared and acknowledged the indictment. Therefore fined, Furner 40s., Burchett 13s. 4d. 23rd September Weldysh appeared. Fined 5s. Paid to the sheriff.
25 Thomas Beching of Cranbrook, barber, between 1st January, 1599/1600, and 1st April following, at Cranbrook, kept a common tippling house, and there sold bread, ale and beer.
26 Richard Saunders of Cranbrook, woodsetter, for a similar offence at Cranbrook at the same times.
27 Richard Bourman of Cranbrook, glover, for a similar offence at the same times at Cranbrook.
[In margin] continued for lack of process to the next.
28 Francis Burgys of Cranbrook, weaver, for a similar offence at the same times at Cranbrook.
29 Alexander Sheafe of Cranbrook, weaver, for a similar offence at the same time at Cranbrook.
30 Francis Hampton of Cranbrook, butcher, for a similar offence at the same times at Cranbrook.
31 George Besbyche of Goudhurst, labourer, for a similar offence at the same times at Goudhurst.
32 Joan Syncks of Goudhurst, widow, for a similar offence at the same times at Goudhurst.
33 [blank] Meere of Goudhurst, widow, for a similar offence at the same times at Goudhurst.
34 John Streater of Goudhurst, labourer, for a similar offence at the same time at Goudhurst.
35 Richard Besbyche of Goudhurst, labourer, for a similar offence at the same times at Goudhurst.
36 Thomas Harris of Shipbourne, labourer, on 20th July, [? 1599, 42 Eliz. [sic]] at Shipbourne, assaulted Mildred Swanne, wife of Timothy Swanne of Shipbourne, yeoman, and struck her with a pitchfork worth 6d.
37 A bridge made of wood and planks on the highway at Waterlane in Headcorn, leading from Sutton Valence to Biddenden, is in great decay because William Wollett late of Headcorn, now of Staplehurst, yeoman, on 9th October, 1599, took certain planks from the bridge, so that it cannot now be crossed without danger.
[In margin] William appeared on 23rd September, 1600, and submitted himself. Therefore fine assessed at 6d. Paid in court.
