Description

Genre: Historical Events. Red cloth bound photograph album, titled 'Camera Studies' on front cover, measuring 218x179mm and containing 24 uncaptioned gelatin silver prints inserted in window mounts. The prints are generally in good condition, apart from slight fading. The photographs record the Grand Patriotic Fete held at Kolar Gold Fields in 1915, presumably in order to raise funds for the war effort. The photographs show the entrance to the fete, British and Indian visitors at the various stalls and taking tea. Subjects = European social life; fetes; war effort.
