St Mary's Parochial Church Council was established in 1920 and assumed most of the functions performed prior to that date by the Churchwardens. Certain series of records were originated by the Churchwardens and continued by the Parochial Church Council. Series created principally by the Churchwardens have been catalogued under PE/FOR/SM/CW, while series created principally by the Parochial Church Council have been catalogued under PE/FOR/SM/PCC.
Thus Churchwardens' accounts 1909-1922 are catalogued as PE/FOR/SM/PCC/2/1, while Parochial Church Council Building Fund records are catalogued under PE/FOR/SM/CW/3/1.
