Double-acting engine, with 20 inch cylinder, 4 foot stroke, parallel motion.

For Wheal Mount. This engine was one of the "small engines" sold through the agency of Boulton Watt & Co. Cornwall, a partnership between Boulton, Watt, Thomas Wilson and William Murdock established in 1785. The engine was stopped in Sep. 1787 and sold to Christopher Gullett of Beer Ferris Mine in Devon, who had it converted to a rotative engine with sun and planet gear.
