The Lodge of Prudence and Industry was named and established in 1799. In 1799 the lodge met at the George Inn, Fore Street, Chard, Somerset In 1812 the lodge met at Freemasons' Hall, Fore Street, Chard and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1831.
