Description

The lst RAF biplane fighter and the first with a fully enclosed cockpit. Its top speed of 257 mph and four .303 machine guns were outdated at the outbreak of war. It saw service on many fronts from Norway to the Western Desert. It equipped RAF Squadrons 3, 25, 33, 54, 56, 65, 72, 73, 80, 85, 87, 94, 112, 127, 261, 263, 521, 603, 605, 607 and 615
