Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an engagement. He brought up pack animals, loaded with ammunition close to the front line and then led them forward under heavy fire to the captured position. His daring and skilful work enabled the guns to be got into action and maintain their fire for a much greater length of time than would otherwwise have been possible. Though he suffered casualties amongst his men and animals, he delivered ammunition to all the guns and then returned and brought up a second load.;
