Administrative / biographical background

The Lodge of Friendship, No. 158 was granted its warrant on 9th June 1762 and was named in 1773. The Lodge was known to have met at a range of Norfolk taverns throughout its working life. These were as follows. The Duke's Head, Tuesday Market Place, Lynn Regis from 1762, the Crown Tavern, Church Street, Lynn Regis from 1786 and again from 1819, the Globe Inn, King Street, Lynn Regis from 1812, the Coffee House, Tuesday Market Place, Lynn Regis from 1821 and finally, the Shakespeare Tavern, King Street, Lynn Regis from 1825 until the erasure of the Lodge on the 5th September 1838.
