1st Jan. 1866. John Ramsdale, Secretary, from the Improvement Commissioners' Office, Runcorn, to J. Walker, Esq. stating that Tuesdays and Saturdays are the market days at Runcorn, but Saturday is the principal market day.
22nd Feb. 1866. Printed notice, with details filled in by hand, of a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the Savings Bank, Grosvenor Street at 11 o'clock on Monday, 26th Feb., to consider and adopt the necessary measures for carrying into effect the provisions of "The Cattle Diseases Prevention Act 1866."
12th April. 1866. Robert Frost to John Walker, Town Clerk. As the Council is borrowing at 4½%, he and his brother cannot in justice to the Trust accept 4½% any longer on the loan of £500. As the deed has still to be signed, they require the market rate of interest.
3rd May, 1866. Robert Frost, from F. A. Frost & Sons Steam Mills, to John Walker, Town Clerk. In consequence of a death the Trust from which he and his brother loaned the Council £500 will now come to a termination. If the mortgage deed is not executed, the money would be more convenient than the deed. If it has been executed it may stand.

30th Aug. 1866. Geo. Edwards, Secretary, to the Chairman and Members of the Corporate Estate Committee. By order of the Chairman, Thomas Dixon, Esq., he encloses the accounts for 1866.
n.d. Geo. Edwards, Secretary, to the Town Council of the City of Chester. Understanding that the Race Committee, in consequence of a deficiency of funds to meet the requisite expenses, contemplate dissolving the said Committee for the purpose of placing the entire management of future meetings under the control of the Grand Stand Proprietors, he applies on behalf of the Grand Stand Committee for the use of the Roodee for the next May meeting, on the same terms as it has previously been granted to the Race Committee, in order that the advertisement may be inserted in the November Racing Calendar.
